National Assembly Chairman Dahal Emphasizes Social Security for Workers

Kathmandu. Chairman of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal, has pointed out the need for the state to arrange policies for social security, insurance, and other welfare services for the working class and implement them effectively.

On the occasion of International Labour Day, he expressed best wishes for happiness, peace, prosperity, and good health to all Nepali working sisters and brothers, both within the country and abroad, and highlighted this need. In a republican system, the state must ensure that there are no shortcomings in basic aspects such as employment, security, and respect for the working class, and the state must effectively implement policies for social security, insurance, and other welfare services, he said. He said, “In various historical periods, Nepali workers have set many records of sacrifice in strong and armed struggles. It is because of the records of struggle and sacrifice of farmers, laborers, and all oppressed classes, castes, genders, regions, and communities that a federal democratic republic has been established in the country, and now it must be implemented properly.” Chairman Dahal also expressed confidence that Labour Day will inspire the state and employers to work in favor of laborers and encourage the working class to move forward unitedly.
