Parliamentary Committee Observes Holding Centers for Displaced Citizens

Kathmandu. The Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives has started observing the 'holding centers' where landless squatters and citizens displaced from unmanaged settlements are kept.

With the support of the Government of Nepal, local levels, and security agencies, squatters residing on the banks of rivers and tributaries in Kathmandu were started to be relocated to safe places from April 12. Those relocated have been kept in various holding centers and housing areas.
