Parliamentary Committee Discusses Devastating Flood Damage in Bhotekoshi

Kathmandu. Discussion has been held in the parliamentary committee regarding the damage caused by the devastating flood in Bhotekoshi. On Wednesday, fifteen days after the Bhotekoshi flood occurred in Rasuwa and Nuwakot on August 26, the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives summoned the Ministry of Finance, the Planning Commission, and the Disaster Management Authority for discussion. In the discussion, the heads of all three bodies informed the committee about the damage caused by the flood and rescue efforts. After the three bodies provided information about the rescue and relief provided by the government after the flood, the MPs expressed their views.

In the meeting, the MPs strongly criticized the government's preparedness in disaster management, rescue, and relief distribution system as a complete failure. The MPs mentioned that they themselves had visited the flood-affected areas and noted that the government's presence was weak.
