Sudurpaschim Local Levels Ignore Human Rights Action Plan

Sudurpaschim. Despite repeated reminders to implement the Sixth National Human Rights Action Plan implemented by the Government of Nepal, most local levels in Sudurpaschim have shown little interest. Only nine out of the 88 local levels in the province have shown interest in forming a coordination committee according to the action plan.

According to the National Human Rights Commission, Sudurpaschim Province Office, none of the local levels in four districts of the province - Darchula, Bajura, Bajhang, and Dadeldhura - have initiated the process of forming a committee in accordance with the action plan. Information has been received that only nine local levels in the remaining five districts have formed committees.
