Myagdi Forest Office Revenue Surges Over Fourfold Due to Hydropower Projects

Myagdi. The income of the Division Forest Office has increased more than fourfold due to the revenue paid by hydropower and transmission line projects for the use of government forest areas and afforestation. The office collected revenue of Rs. 11.635 million 28 in the financial year 2081-82, and Rs. 53.653 million 136 in the financial year 2082-83.

The 65 MW Myagdi Khola Hydropower Project has paid Rs. 52.940 million 341 in revenue for the use of government forest areas and afforestation, informed Divisional Forest Officer Basantkeshav Adhikari. He stated that the Dahaakhhet-Rahughat 132 KV transmission line project paid Rs. 194,881 and the Rahughat Hydropower Project paid Rs. 517,913 in revenue for the use of forest areas.
