MP Yubaraj Dulal Protests Closure of E-GP System

Kathmandu. Nepali Communist Party (NCP) MP Yubaraj Dulal has protested, stating that the government has shut down the Electronic Government Procurement (E-GP) system. Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Friday, MP Dulal protested that the government has shut down the Electronic Government Procurement system, which was implemented 13 years ago in 2070 BS to make public procurement processes transparent, accountable, and competitive.

He stated that although the months of Shrawan, Bhadra, Ashwin, and Kartik are the main times for government contracting, the process has been halted due to the closure of the system. He mentioned that the closure of the system has completely affected the contracting process from hundreds of central government offices, all 753 local levels, and offices under the seven provinces, and that the procurement of medicines, health supplies, essential goods, and overall development construction work has come to a standstill.
