Chitwan Faces Shortage of Space for Flood Victims' Bodies

Chitwan. There is a shortage of space to keep the bodies of those who died in the Trishuli river flood. The post-mortem house at Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan is full, so bodies are being kept outside under tarpaulins.

Bharatpur Hospital's Information Officer Gopal Prasad Poudel said that 64 bodies have been brought to the hospital so far. He said that the hospital has a capacity to keep 12 people, which is now full. ‘We have 6 freezers. If we put 2 people in each, we can keep 12 people,’ he added, ‘There are also unclaimed bodies from before. We do not have the capacity to handle such a casualty.’
