IPPAN Chairman Expresses Concern Over Uncertainty in Hydropower Project Construction

Kathmandu. Independent Power Producers' Association, Nepal (IPPAN) Chairman Mohan Kumar Dangi has expressed concern that questions are being raised about whether to build hydropower projects in Nepal recently. Speaking at a program organized by IPPAN, he said that it is a serious and sad matter that uncertainty is being created regarding project construction at a time when the private sector is investing heavily.

He emphasized the need to establish the necessity of hydropower based on facts and evidence, stating that seven to eight hundred companies are involved in this sector for the country's prosperity. Dangi clarified that there are sufficient grounds to achieve the goal of generating 30,000 megawatts of electricity in the next 10 years.
