Hanta Virus Risk in Nepal Extremely Low, Ministry of Health States

Kathmandu. Concern and worry are also being expressed in Nepal about the 'Hanta Virus' seen in some parts of the world recently. In this regard, the Ministry of Health and Population has issued special information for the general public, clarifying the risk of this in Nepal.

According to the Ministry of Health, Hanta virus infection has not been confirmed in Nepal so far. The mice that spread the 'Andes virus', which is currently in the Hanta virus group, are not commonly found in Nepal. Therefore, the ministry has stated that the immediate risk in Nepal is extremely low.
