Baglung Rural Municipality Provides Free Ambulance Service to Pregnant and Postpartum Women

Baglung. From the afternoon of Bhadra 8, Devi Gharti of Tarakhola Rural Municipality-4 Baisouna experienced labor pains. It was raining heavily. The health worker at the local health institution, where Devi had regular prenatal check-ups, had told her, 'If you feel unwell, the municipality has an ambulance, contact immediately.' Devi's family did just that that day. The municipality immediately arranged an ambulance.

Thirty-five-year-old Devi gave birth to her third child at the local Hill Health Post that night. Devi, who had returned home on a stretcher after her previous delivery, was taken home by the municipality's ambulance this time.
