Singer Shila Ale Discusses Evolution and Concerns Regarding Teej Songs

Teej is not just a festival for me, but also a tradition. As Teej approaches every year, a different kind of excitement begins to stir in my heart. That's why every year I bring out a Teej song. In the past years, I had the opportunity to lend my voice to many creations of others, but this year I focused more on my own creations. This year I have brought out a Teej song called 'Tunte Katha', in which I have collaborated with Sharmila Didi, Laxmi Neupane Didi, and Devi Gharti Bahini. We have emphasized through the song that the real vibrancy of festivals is in the village.

When I was young, I used to follow my elder sisters. They would sing songs, and I would clap and follow them. I became a singer by catching the rhythm of my sisters. I don't have an exact count of how many songs I have sung professionally. But the number of Teej songs must be more than 70-75. Out of these, 25-30 are my own investment and creations.
