Woman's Body Found After Being Swept Away by Nisti River in Gulmi

Gulmi. The body of 29-year-old Kalpana Pun, who went missing after being swept away by the Nisti River in Gulmi, was found 19 hours later. Pun had gone out of contact after being swept away by the Nisti River around 5 PM on Sunday, which falls on the border of Nisti Municipality and Isma Rural Municipality. She was going from her home in Nisti Municipality to her parents' home in Hulma, Isma Rural Municipality-4. After being swept away by the river, locals and police began searching for her. During the search, her body was found around 12 PM today in the Nisti River at Thula Pahara in Amrai.

According to SP Bhim Kiran Bogati, Chief of the District Police Office Gulmi, the body was found by a team of locals and police during the search. 'The body of the woman swept away by the river yesterday evening has been found today,' SP Bogati told Ratopati. 'Preparations are underway to bring the body to the District Hospital Tansen for postmortem.' Police teams from Isma Police Post and Poudi Amrai were mobilized for the search operation.
