Kispang Rural Municipality Chairman Birbal Tamang Arrested

Kathmandu. Kispang Rural Municipality Chairman Birbal Tamang was arrested from Singha Durbar on Monday afternoon. He was arrested while leaving a meeting called by Prime Minister Balen Shah with the representatives of local bodies affected by the flood in Bhote Koshi on Bhadra 10. Tamang, who was arrested based on a banking offense complaint filed by Arun Aryal at the Police Circle Durbar Marg, was found to be a fugitive in 9 more cases. District Police Range Kathmandu SSP Dilip Ghimire informed that Rural Municipality Chairman Tamang is a fugitive in 10 cases for which a complaint has been filed with the police and investigation reports have been submitted to the government attorney's office. Tamang is a fugitive in a single case of 3 crore 3 lakh. He has been a fugitive in a banking offense case of 3 crore 4 lakh filed by Sunamaya Gharti at Kathmandu Range since Bhadra 5, 2082. The police have investigated the matter and submitted the report to the government attorney's office. He is a fugitive in a banking offense case of 1 crore 3 lakh filed by Herakaji Bade at Kathmandu Range. Tamang, who operates Ocean Transport & Adventure Pvt. Ltd. in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, is a defendant in a total of 10 banking offense cases. SSP Ghimire informed that he is being investigated at the Police Circle Durbar Marg.
