Indra Jatra Lingo Brought to Kathmandu from Nala Forest

Kathmandu. The lingo required for the historic and cultural festival Indra Jatra has been brought to Kathmandu from Nala forest in Kavre. The lingo, prepared by cutting a tree selected according to tantric and traditional rituals, was pulled to Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The lingo for Indra Jatra is called 'Yoh Sim' in the Nepali language. This lingo brought from the Nala forest is prepared according to rituals and erected in front of the Kalbhairav idol in the Hanumandhoka Durbar area. It is a religious belief that the formal start of Indra Jatra begins after erecting the lingo and performing Indradhwajotthan.
