Eleven Hydropower Projects Affected by Bhote Koshi Flood, Rescue Operations Underway

Kathmandu. Eleven hydropower projects in Rasuwa and Nuwakot have been affected by the flood in Bhote Koshi on September 10. People were trapped in the project tunnels due to the severe flood that came from the Lende River in China.

According to the Independent Power Producers' Association (IPPAN), people were trapped in the tunnels of all eleven projects. Rescue operations are currently underway in six projects under the leadership of the Nepali Army.
