Fire at furniture industry destroys property worth over Rs 5 million

Fire that broke out at a furniture industry here has destroyed furniture and other materials worth over Rs 5 million. The fire started at Ganesh Furniture Industry at Ratnapark, Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi municipality-1 at around 4.30 am today. Police have estimated the damage to be of Rs 5.08 million.

The furniture industry is operated by a local Harka Raj Rai. Preliminary investigation showed that the fire started from an electric short circuit, Chief of the District Police Office Khotang, Deputy Superintendent Narayan Prasad Chimoriya said.
