Local Mart Expands Reach Through Social Media

Myagdi. Until two years ago, only local customers used to visit 'Thapa Local Mart' operated by Kamala Baniyan Thapa of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-7 Dharapani, Myagdi, in Jaljala Rural Municipality-3 Parbat Beni. Now, various indigenous products produced in the hilly and mountainous regions of Myagdi, Mustang, and Parbat are reaching abroad.

'By going live on social media TikTok and Facebook to showcase products, not only has customer access increased,' says operator Kamala Baniyan Thapa, 'but business and income have also significantly increased. Previously, limited customers from Beni and Mallaj areas used to come.'
