Federal Parliament Secretariat Launches Digital Platform Trial

Kathmandu. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has started the trial operation of the Digital Parliament Platform with the objective of making parliamentary information, services, and records more organized, transparent, and technology-friendly.

The platform launched by the Secretariat was jointly inaugurated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Dol Prasad Aryal and the Chairman of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal. According to Ekram Giri, spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, with the system coming into operation, the attendance, absence, and leave details of the members of parliament through biometric and NFC technology in the meetings of both the houses and committees will be automatically recorded. This will help track the participation of members of parliament in real-time.
