National Bank Act Amendment Bill Report Unanimously Passed

Kathmandu. The report related to the bill to amend the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058 has been passed unanimously. The Finance Committee passed the report unanimously in a meeting held on Wednesday. In the meeting, the Finance Committee Chairman Dr. Krishnahari Budhathoki had urged to pass the committee's report. Discussing the report prepared by the committee regarding the bill, he said that a unanimous decision was made after a clause-by-clause discussion based on the suggestions and advice received from the committee members. Chairman Budhathoki said, 'As the Nepal Rastra Bank Act is being amended, the country must make an economic leap. In that, how to select leadership structurally and how the leadership will function has been discussed more.' He mentioned that all members had a positive sentiment about moving the bill forward unanimously. Stating that the report was prepared based on the committee's decisions, he said that attention was focused on checking whether any subject matter other than the decisions was included in the meeting. He said, 'Now, let's register here as a record in the committee and I request you all to pass this report unanimously.' He mentioned that the process of amending the Nepal Rastra Bank Act can bring structural changes in the country's economic development. He stated that important discussions were held in the committee, especially on issues related to the selection of the Rastra Bank's leadership and the performance of the leadership. He also informed that there is a provision for committee members to submit further suggestions and opinions in writing to the Finance Committee Secretariat if they deem it necessary.
