Nepali Congress Kapilvastu Leaders Criticize District Leadership

Kapilvastu. A disgruntled faction in the Nepali Congress Kapilvastu has raised questions about the working style of the district leadership. Ten leaders from the district have jointly issued a statement accusing the party's district leadership of acting against the statute and creating an atmosphere of terror through arbitrary actions. The press release issued by them states, 'The one-sided, unjust, and so-called actions of the district leadership have severely impacted internal democracy.' The disgruntled faction has leveled five accusations against the district leadership. The accusations include: candidates recommended unanimously from the lower level in the past elections were sidelined and tickets were distributed against the statute from the center; the district working committee has acted beyond its jurisdiction; over seven hundred loyal and promising leaders and workers were sidelined without being given a chance to explain, with prejudice, targeting the general convention; elected regional and unit presidents were removed based on personal and factional interests and replaced with those favorable to them; and the disgruntled faction has questioned the central committee's stance on such activities of the district leadership. The statement has demanded respect for the recommendations of the lower bodies, giving due place to wronged workers, and initiating a dialogue process immediately. They have also emphasized stopping unauthorized changes and making the upcoming organizational process fair and transparent. They have warned that if the district and central leadership do not accept the reality and do not take initiative for unity, they will be forced to boycott all programs of the upcoming 15th General Convention, and the current district leadership will have to take responsibility for the resulting situation. They released the statement at a press conference. The statement was signed by District Joint Secretary Mo Wajih Arsad, Regional President of Kapilvastu Constituency No. 1 Abdul Mannan Khan, Province Assembly candidate Dolakh Ram Ghimire, Provincial Regional President Durga Bahadur KC, Palika President Khurshed Ahmed Khan, District Member Hari Raj Ghimire, and 10 others.
