Flood Devastates Upper Trishuli 216 MW Project, Rescue Efforts Underway

The peaceful morning of Bhadra 10, 2083 BS, suddenly turned chaotic and abnormal. Around 8:57 AM, the senior manager of the company constructing the Upper Trishuli 216 MW project in Dhunche issued an emergency message to the workers and staff at Mailung camp – a flood is coming, stay safe. Moments after the message, the destructive force of the Bhote Koshi-Trishuli river surged forward, devastating humans, villages, structures, roads, and land in its path.

Various sites of the project were hit by the flood, the immediate assessment of which is not possible. At that time, the company's workers and staff were already working at various locations of the project. After the flood, all communication was cut off, and the situation became suddenly uncertain and dire. In a moment, many local residents, along with the hydropower company's workers and staff, went missing.
