Solukhumbu Rural Municipality Deputy Chairperson and Son Charged with Corruption

Kathmandu. The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a charge sheet against Solukhumbu's Sotang Rural Municipality Deputy Chairperson Anju Nachhiring Rai and her son Sunil Nachhiring Rai at the Special Court Kathmandu.

Deputy Chairperson Rai had demanded a bribe of 45,000 rupees for facilitating work as a trainer for the 90-day Dhaka sewing and weaving training conducted in the fiscal year 2080/081 in the rural municipality. The investigation has confirmed that she had the amount deposited into her son Sunil's bank account via QR code, the Commission stated.
