Supreme Court reduces sentence for Bishan Bahadur Sarki from life imprisonment to three years

Kathmandu. In a case related to rape, a person who was sentenced to life imprisonment by the district court has had his sentence reduced to only three years by the Supreme Court. In the case of rape against the defendant Bishan Bahadur Karki, the district court had sentenced him to life imprisonment, and in the appeal against the district court's decision, the high court had imposed a sentence of 12 years and 6 months imprisonment.

The Supreme Court, reducing the 12 years and 3 months imprisonment imposed by the high court on Sarki, has ruled for only 3 years of imprisonment. A joint bench of Justices Mahesh Sharma Poudel and Shanti Singh Thapa made this decision on Bishan Bahadur Sarki's appeal.
