The Hague. Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte appeared in person at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for the first time on Wednesday. The 81-year-old Duterte, who is facing charges of crimes against humanity, appeared in court for the first time in person during a hearing on his health condition and his ability to face trial.
Duterte has been in custody in The Hague, Netherlands, since March 2025. Since his arrest, he had only appeared in court via video. He had previously not participated in some hearings.
