Flood Forecasting Warns of Rising Water Levels in Major Rivers

Kathmandu. According to the bulletin issued by the Flood Forecasting Department on Thursday morning, the water levels of Koshi, Gandaki, Bagmati, Karnali, Mahakali and their tributaries, as well as Kankai, Kamala, Babai, East Rapti and West Rapti rivers are below the alert level.

The department, releasing the forecast for water levels and flood situation of rivers for the next three days, stated that the water level in Saptakoshi at Chatara, Tamor at Triveni, Arun at Simle and Dudhkoshi at Khuvabazar in the Koshi river basin will significantly increase on October 1, 2 and 3. Although the water level in Tamakoshi at Busti will increase normally today, there is a possibility of a significant increase on October 2 and 3. It is also stated that the water level in Sun Koshi at Humchaur will increase significantly on all three days.
