Flood shakes APF: Rescue teams ready, but no helicopter

KATHMANDU, Sept 17: As soon as he received news of the flood in the Bhotekoshi River on August 26, DSP Pradip Rai, chief of the Armed Police Force (APF) in Rasuwa, tried to contact his colleagues stationed in Timure. None of the calls went through. The sound of the flood could be heard as far as Dhunche, but before Rai could find out what had happened to personnel stationed farther north, communication across the district had been cut off.
