Foreign Minister Khanaal Calls for Rethinking Nepal's Development Model After Recent Disasters

Kathmandu. The recent Rasuwa Bhote Koshi disaster has created a situation where Nepal has to rethink the development concept of prosperity that it has been advancing in the last decade, said Foreign Minister Shishir Khanaal. He expressed this view while speaking during a discussion on climate change at a meeting of the International Relations and Tourism Committee held at Singh Durbar on Thursday.

He emphasized the need to look at the increasing disasters in the Himalayan region in conjunction with the overall development plan, as Nepal's settlement development, roads, north-south corridor, hydropower, and inter-country connectivity concepts are linked to the main river corridors.
