Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Pukar Bam Suggests Mobilizing Riders for Road Inspection

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Pukar Bam has suggested to the Kathmandu Road Division to mobilize riders and volunteers to identify potholes and damage on the roads. He made this suggestion while speaking at the launch program of the 'Road Suggestion' mobile app organized by the Kathmandu Road Division. He stated that the Road Suggestion app should not be limited to just collecting problems but should be developed as a system for actively identifying road conditions. MP Bam proposed that instead of regular road inspections by employees, which could increase costs, riders from ride-sharing companies like InDrive and Pathao could be mobilized for road inspection as part of social responsibility. He suggested that by mobilizing riders on specific sections of the ring road from Chabahil, data on road conditions could be collected weekly for maintenance work. Speaking at the program, MP Bam said, 'We should not just wait for requests and complaints on the app. We need to go on a proactive basis.' Clarifying the method to make the road inspection process effective, he added, 'By assigning specific road sections to riders, arrangements can be made to regularly send photos and details of road conditions, potholes, and damage.' At the program, another RSP MP Ganesh Parajuli said that starting road maintenance and pothole filling work 24 hours a day through the app is a positive start. He stated that the partnership of MPs, the government, and citizens is necessary to make road improvement work more effective through the app. He emphasized the need to expedite the completion of under-construction and damaged roads in the Kathmandu Valley. MP Parajuli said that the federal government should coordinate with local governments rather than directly intervening in road maintenance that falls under the jurisdiction of local levels. Speaking about road improvement work, he said, 'The work of filling potholes on already constructed roads and maintaining quality should also be accelerated.' Emphasizing that the government's work should be effective, he added, 'Only when these works move forward simultaneously can citizens feel the results of the government's work.' MP Parajuli emphasized the need to expedite development construction work by fostering mutual coordination and cooperation among governments at all levels.
