Kathmandu. The Road Division Kathmandu has launched the 'Sadak Sujhab' mobile app to provide immediate information about road problems and damages. The division briefed the MPs elected from all 10 constituencies of Kathmandu district about the app during a program. Division Chief Subodh Kumar Devkota informed that the app allows reporting of potholes, road damage, waterlogging problems, traffic safety, and road construction-related issues with photos. He also stated that preparations are underway to officially launch the app. After reporting a problem, the app will identify the location of the problem through GIS mapping. Division Chief Devkota said that users can also determine the location by searching for the address if needed. He mentioned that when registering a problem, a photo, the type of problem, the severity level, and a nearby landmark must be provided. The Road Division Office had previously deployed a 'Road Pothole Repair Ambulance' to immediately fill potholes on the roads of the Kathmandu Valley. The office has intensified its repair campaign with the aim of making roads safe and organized. Informing about the app's operation, Division Chief Devkota said, 'We have launched a new app called 'Sadak Sujhab'. Problems related to damaged roads and waterlogged areas can be reported here.' Further clarifying the app's use, he added, 'If you see any problems like potholes, road damage, waterlogging, or road construction issues, solutions can now be found through the same app.' Explaining the process of downloading the app and reporting, he said, 'First, download the Sadak Sujhab app from the Play Store or App Store and click on 'Report a Problem' on the home screen to upload a photo of the problem. The app automatically identifies the location where the photo was taken.' Providing more details about the problem registration process, he added, 'After selecting the type of problem and severity level and submitting, a reference number will be received. The status of the registered report can also be viewed through the app.' He stated that the received reports will be evaluated based on the need, severity, and priority of the problem, and the management process will be initiated. Devkota claimed that the Road Division Kathmandu is committed to public service and welfare 24 hours a day. He also informed that Bhaktapur and Lalitpur districts will gradually be connected to this system.
