Supreme Court Issues Interim Order on House of Representatives Regulations

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has issued an interim order to keep some controversial provisions of the House of Representatives Regulations, 2083, in abeyance immediately, maintaining the status quo. The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court issued such an order in response to a writ filed by Kamala Devi Pant, leader of the Nepali Congress National Assembly Parliamentary Party, making the Federal Parliament Secretariat and others respondents.

The bench, comprising Chief Justice Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma and Justices Kumar Regmi, Dr. Nahkul Subedi, Binod Sharma, and Sharanga Subedi, issued an interim order on Wednesday to not implement the controversial provisions.
