Farmers in Sunsari Busy with Jute Management

Sunsari. Farmers in Sunsari are busy managing jute, a cash crop, these days. For the past month, farmers here have been busy cutting jute, submerging it in water, separating it, drying it, and taking it to market.

After removing from water, jute and sunthi are separated. Dried jute is ready for sale, while sunthi is used directly as a substitute for firewood or to make cow dung cakes. It is also used for fencing.
