WHO Regional Director Meets Foreign Minister, Expresses Condolences

Kathmandu. World Health Organization (WHO) Eastern Mediterranean Region Regional Director Dr. Hanan H. Balkhy held a courtesy meeting with Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal. The courtesy meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.

In the meeting, Dr. Balkhy expressed deep condolences for those affected and who lost their lives in the recent floods in Nepal, and praised the leadership shown by the Nepal government in the difficult situation. During the meeting, Dr. Balkhy informed about her candidacy for the post of WHO Director-General, her vision, and priorities, and expressed her expectation for Nepal's support for her candidacy.
