10 Ministries Face Most Corruption Complaints at CIAA

Kathmandu. The most complaints related to 10 ministries of the central government have been filed at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). The CIAA informed at a press conference that out of the complaints filed at the commission in the fiscal year 2082/083, the highest number of 3,036 complaints were related to the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation. Of the 15,512 complaints filed at the federal level, more than 19 percent were related to the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation, said CIAA spokesperson Suresh Neupane. The commission stated that 1,983 complaints were related to the Ministry of Education and Sports, 1,757 to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 1,095 to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, 877 to the Ministry of Finance, and 816 to the Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene. Complaints related to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation numbered 657, and those related to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation were 563. Complaints related to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment numbered 548, and 399 complaints related to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology were registered at the commission. Spokesperson Neupane informed that 3,781 complaints related to other ministries were registered last fiscal year. The commission submitted its 36th annual report to the President on Thursday. The project stated that the report is 469 pages long.
