She left her village to support her family. Along the way, she found her own path

In the village of Ibhang in Ilam, surrounded by green tea gardens , Ayusha Shrestha grew up carrying responsibilities that most children her age never had to think about.

Her mother shouldered the burden of running the family, while Ayusha took on responsibilities from a young age. She did not have the carefree childhood her friends enjoyed. She was already thinking about her younger sister’s education, household expenses and her own future.
