Besishahar-Chame Road Blocked by Landslide, Efforts Underway to Clear Debris

Manang. It is proving difficult to remove the large rock and landslide that has blocked the Besishahar-Chame road, which is the lifeline of Manang. The movement of vehicles has been completely halted due to the large rock and landslide that fell in Khotro of Naso Rural Municipality-3 on Wednesday morning.

Chief District Officer of Manang, Muktiprasad Khanal, said that efforts have been underway to open the road since Wednesday. "Efforts have been made to remove it by blasting throughout Wednesday and Thursday, but even with blasting, the large rock did not break," he said, "Efforts are being made to clear the landslide with equipment including dozers. Drilling is also being done along with this."
