Snakebite Treatment Center in Bardibas Faces Service Disruption Due to Anti-Snake Venom Shortage

Mahottari. The snakebite treatment center operating in Bardibas has reached a state where it cannot provide services due to a shortage of anti-snake venom. The snakebite treatment center Bardibas-3 Gauridanda, which has been treating snakebite patients from eight districts of the Madhesh and Hill regions, has stated that it has had to stop services due to a lack of anti-snake venom.

The center has stated that there has been a shortage of the venom used in the treatment of poisonous snakebites since the beginning of the current fiscal year 2083/84. Center Chairman Krishnaprasad Devkota says that although efforts were made to continue the treatment service, they were forced to put up a notice after being unable to obtain the venom.
