London. English club Leicester City has been penalized with a six-point deduction for violating financial regulations. The English Football League (EFL) has immediately enforced the deduction of six points from Leicester's current season for breaching the 'Profit and Sustainability' (PSR) rules.

With this penalty, Leicester, currently in 17th place in the Championship table, has dropped directly to 20th position. The team is currently only outside the relegation zone based on goal difference.
