Kavre District Reports 32 Dengue Cases

Kavrepalanchok. The number of dengue-infected people in the district has reached 32. According to the updated details released by the District Public Health Office, infection has been confirmed in 32 people in the district from Shrawan 1 to Ashwin 1. According to Public Health Officer Shishir Pudasaini, the highest number of infections, 13 each, have been confirmed in Banepa Municipality and Panichkal Municipality. He said that three infected people were found in the last 24 hours. He informed that infection has been confirmed in one person in Panichkal, one in Namobuddha Municipality, and one in Mandandeupur Municipality. Information Officer of the Public Health Office, Dipendra Kaji Shrestha, informed that there have been no dengue-infected people so far in Dhulikhel and Panauti Municipalities and Bhumlu, Roshi, Temal, Khanikhola, Bethanchok, Mahabharat and Chauari Deurali Rural Municipalities. In the previous fiscal year, 59 people were confirmed infected in Kavre. Information Officer Shrestha said that awareness and sanitation campaigns have been carried out to prevent further spread of infection this year, as the monsoon season creates a favorable environment for mosquito breeding. The Public Health Office has urged to avoid mosquito bites, not to let water accumulate in and around the house, and to wear long-sleeved clothes to prevent dengue. The office has requested to get tested and treated at a health institution if symptoms such as fever, headache, and body aches appear.
