Timber worth over Rs 110 million remains unsold in Koshi

Biratnagar, Sept 18: Timber worth more than Rs 110 million has remained stockpiled at depots and storage yards across Koshi Province as forest products continue to go unsold due to government-set prices being higher than prevailing market rates.

According to the Provincial Forest Directorate, Dharan, a total of 132,574.13 cubic feet of timber from national, community, leasehold and partnership forests remains unsold at depots under various Division Forest Offices. Based on government revenue rates, the stock is valued at Rs 114.54 million.
