Viber Reaches 1 Million Digital Wallets; Expands Payment Features

Popular messaging app Rakuten Viber announced that its integrated digital payments feature, Viber Payments, has reached over 1 million active users in less than a year since launch. To celebrate this major milestone, Viber Wallet has introduced two new key features – Group Payments and Referrals.

Group Payments allows Viber users to easily split bills or collect money within groups, making it convenient to divide expenses for outings like dinner or collect funds for shared goals such as gifts and holidays. The new Referrals feature is a double-sided €5 referral program rolled out to all Viber users in Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, and Lithuania. Users in Greece and Cyprus can try out the new referral prize wheel where they can potentially win up to €50.
