Karnali Chief Minister Says Constitution Empowers Remote Regions

Surkhet. Karnali Chief Minister Mangal Bahadur Shahi has claimed that the constitution has empowered geographically remote areas like Karnali. Shahi said this while giving a congratulatory message on the occasion of Constitution Day and National Day, 2083. 'The constitution has empowered geographically remote but possibility-filled areas like Karnali,' he said, 'It has established the people as the source of state power and vested sovereignty and supremacy in the people.' He also believes that the constitution has ended centuries-old discrimination, oppression, and centralized state systems and bound the diverse Nepali society with the thread of national unity. Shahi stated that since the phase of achieving political rights has been completed, the main goal now is to achieve economic prosperity with social justice. For that, he said, the provincial government is continuously active in fulfilling Karnali's regional resolution of 'Prosperous Karnali, Happy Karnali Residents.' 'We are committed to delivering the fundamental rights guaranteed by the constitution to the doorsteps of citizens by creating opportunities for efficient use of resources, infrastructure development, education, health, and employment,' he said, 'I heartily call upon all political parties, people's representatives, civil society, and all residents of the province to unite and move forward to fully transform the spirit and meaning of the constitution into practice.'
