Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada Retires After Four Decades in Judiciary

Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada, who spent seven years, seven months, and seven days in the Supreme Court and four decades in the justice sector, is known as a respected justice. High integrity and judgments establishing important precedents are the hallmarks of his judicial life. Khatiwada, who entered the justice sector in 2039 BS, retired as a senior justice from the Supreme Court in 2073 BS and from the position of senior justice in 2080 BS.

It has been 11 years since the promulgation of the Constitution of Nepal-2072 BS. In this context, we have had a conversation with Justice Khatiwada, covering democracy, the judiciary, and the performance of the government led by the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) after the Janji movement. The conversation was held for Ratopati by Naresh Gyawali and Nirajan Poudel on Constitution Day.
