Paulo Freire's 105th Birth Anniversary Observed in Lumbini

Kathmandu. On the occasion of the 105th birth anniversary of the world-renowned Brazilian educator and education philosopher Paulo Freire of the twentieth century, a discussion program titled 'Remembering Paulo Freire in the Land of Buddha's Birth' was held.

At the program organized by Rarahil Memorial School and Lifelong Learning Circle, educationist Prof. Dr. Kedar Bhakt Mathema said that education is never neutral and is always influenced by political and ideological perspectives. He stated that every society tries to mold its children according to a certain ideology, with schools and curricula being the primary means for this.
