Nepali Congress Ward Conventions Begin

Kathmandu. The ward convention of the Nepali Congress's 15th General Convention has started from today. With the party's central election committee releasing a schedule to hold ward conventions on Saturday and Sunday according to local convenience, the ward convention has formally started from Saturday. The Congress Election Committee has stated that all active members who have renewed their active membership by the end of Poush will be able to participate in the ward convention.

In the party's convention, active members from the ward area will be members of the ward convention. The convention will elect a ward president, two vice-presidents including one woman, one secretary, one joint secretary, and members. On Saturday, party president Gagan Kumar Thapa inaugurated the convention of Ward No. 20 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, under Kathmandu Constituency No. 4. He also informed that he has made maximum efforts to include everyone in the party's general convention. He stated that efforts to resolve the party's disputes will continue until the last moment and that he is meeting and discussing with the top leaders of all factions. He clarified that although political party issues should be resolved politically, the issue has reached the court and repeated decisions have not created any obstacles in moving forward with the general convention.
