CPN Leader Barshaman Pun Denies Immediate Party Unification with CPN-UML

Kavre. Nepali Communist Party (CPN) leader Barshaman Pun has clarified that rumors of immediate party unification with CPN-UML and distribution of posts are baseless. He claimed that the rumors held no truth while addressing a gathering organized by the CPN Khanikhola Contact Committee in Banepa, Kavre on Saturday.

Pun informed that preliminary discussions are underway at the leadership level regarding the possibility of future unification with UML. Mentioning that cooperation has already occurred in provincial governments with UML, he stated that cooperation with communist forces and, if necessary, with the Nepali Congress will continue to protect the constitution and democracy and to counter foreign interference. He expressed the view that party unification is not possible immediately until the internal debate within UML is resolved.
