Ways To Improve Patient Safety

World Patient Safety Day was celebrated on 17th September 2026 with the theme “Safe care for noncommunicable diseases”, accompanied by the slogan "Safe care for life”. The most important responsibility of the healthcare system is patient safety. People place their trust in healthcare professionals while visiting any hospital, clinic, or healthcare facility. It is obvious that they expect appropriate and safe care. Patient safety should not be viewed as a separate or additional responsibility; rather, it should be the first and ultimate healthcare objective. It is, therefore, the responsibility of the healthcare system to provide appropriate and evidence-based treatment and protect patients from preventable harm.
