Nepal-China Ecological Cooperation

The mighty Himalayas along the Nepal-China border symbolise their deep bonhomie and shared ecological destiny, not elements of division. The snowy mountains, glaciers, and lakes straddle both countries, implying that they are bound by the Himalayan ecosystem. If any disaster occurs on the common border, it hits them equally. The Bhotekoshi flash flood affirms this fact. It was triggered by a glacial collapse at the Nepal-China border. Both countries suffered a huge loss of life and infrastructure. This catastrophe has brought Nepal and China together to minimise the risks. This has necessitated ecological cooperation between them, as the global warming-induced climate change has posed an existential threat to the planet.
