Low-Pressure System May Affect Nepal, Meteorologists Advise Caution

Kathmandu. The low-pressure system developed in the eastern Bay of Bengal, around the North Andaman Sea, may also affect Nepal. Meteorologists have stated that the low-pressure system is strengthening and moving west-northwestward.

Meteorologists have urged for caution and preparedness as this system, estimated to reach near the coastal areas of South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh in India around October 7, could potentially impact Nepal. In this regard, we spoke with meteorologist Rojen Lamichhane of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
