Dengue Infections Reach 5,238 Nationwide

Kathmandu. The number of dengue-infected people across the country has reached 5,238. According to the data from the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, 5,238 people have been found to be infected with dengue. The number of dengue infections has been publicly disclosed from 74 districts of the country according to the fortnightly analysis from Poush 17, 2082 to Bhadra 30, 2083 (January 1 to September 15, 2026). The Division is continuously issuing suggestions for analysis, prevention, and control, warning that dengue infections may increase further, especially during and after the rainy season. Although infections have been seen in various parts of the country, infections are rapidly increasing in districts including Jhapa, Baglung, Sunsari, Palpa, Kaski, and Dang. Looking at the data from local levels, infections have been confirmed in the highest number of 1,017 people in Baglung Municipality. Similarly, 185 people have been found in Pokhara Metropolitan City, 119 in Itahari Municipality, and 107 dengue patients in Bhadrapur Municipality. Control activities have been intensified in areas where infections are high. Especially in the highly affected Baglung Municipality, a team of entomologists, field epidemiologists, and laboratory personnel has been deployed from the Division to conduct special monitoring and research.
