Australia Defeats Zimbabwe by 1 Wicket to Clinch Series 3-0

Harare. Australia has clinched the series 3-0 by defeating the home team Zimbabwe by 1 wicket in the third and final One Day International match played at Harare Sports Club. Australia achieved victory by scoring 9 wickets in 49.5 overs while chasing a target of 272 runs in a thrilling match that went down to the last over.

Zimbabwe, after being invited to bat first after losing the toss, prepared a competitive total of 271 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Innocent Kaia and Craig Ervine gave a good start to the team by sharing an 80-run partnership for the second wicket. Kaia scored 55 runs. He was forced to leave the field due to a hamstring injury and was 'retired hurt'. Another batsman, Ervine, contributed 59 runs.
